corpusLGBT

Everyone has a sexuality and gender, encompassing sex, sexual health, sexual orientation, and gender identity, which can change over time. Whether you choose to define yourself as straight, gay, bisexual, transgender, or choose not to define your sexuality at all, Cambridge is known as a very open, liberal place, with intolerance and homophobia being incredibly rare.

Cambridge has a welcoming and lively LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other groups) community, with regular events organised across the University and city. Every college has its own LGBT+ Officer and LGBT+ community, and Corpus is no different.

Mailing list

Corpus has its own confidential LGBT+ mailing list. If you would like to subscribe and hear about LGBT+ swaps, socials, news etc. please click here. Your name is optional and only the JCR LGBT+ Officer, who administers the list, can see who has signed up and receives emails. There is also a Facebook page which you can be added to, with regular updates on club nights, CUSU LGBT events and events within Corpus and other colleges.

Welfare

If you ever feel the need to talk to someone, in complete confidence, concerning anything from relationships to coming out, feel free to get in touch with the JCR LGBT+ Officer. The JCR LGBT+ Officer will deal with anything you tell them sensitively and appropriately, in complete confidence. If you would prefer, you can contact the JCR LGBT+ Officer, and the JCR Welfare Officers anonymously using the Welfare Contact system. CUSU also has its own set of LGBT+ Welfare Reps, if you would like to speak to someone outside of College.
