The Nicholas Bacon Law Society is a society for the promotion of the academic study and practical application of Law at Corpus Christi College.

Law students make up around 10% of the undergraduate population at Corpus, but (free) membership of the society is also open to students of non-Law subjects, and most of our events are open to all members of the College.

We organise regular events with law firms and chambers, providing the opportunity for our members to interact with potential employers and gain a first-hand perspective of a career in the law, through both formal career presentations and informal dinners.

We also organise events specifically for those students studying law at Corpus, including the Freshers’ Moot, permitting first-year students to practice their advocacy skills, and more informal social gatherings, such as the Annual Curry Night.

We are keen to maintain links with alumni, and membership of the society is open to those who have studied law at Corpus, as well as those alumni of other disciplines who now practice or study law. We are delighted to maintain the tradition of the the Annual Law Dinner, held in March, which provides the opportunity to welcome back to Corpus all such members of the society for a formal meal in Hall.
