JCR Committee: Carlijn Ruers

2005–6: Female Welfare Officer

Hi,

My role is to be there for you if you want any information or to chat about something that you don't really want to talk about to anyone else. This can be ANYTHING, however trivial you might think it is! I will be in my room (Q2- opposite the TV room) every Thursday from 4.30 -6 pm if you'd like to come and see me.

Generally, if you don't need to see me personally you can find welfare-related information around College. Adam and I updated the information sheets that you can find in the toilets and bathrooms last term and the welfare section on the JCR website is also up-to-date.

In case you want to request a pregnancy test or condoms, you can (anonymously) fill out a form in the women's pigeon hole in the postroom and I'll put what you've asked for in there asap. Alternatively, you can email me. I also have leaflets on literally almost anything (mental problems, eating disorders, self-harming, personal safety, etc.) and if you would like one of those just email me or leave a note in the Women's pigeon hole, anonymously if you prefer. I have put some leaflets on contraception in the Women's pigeon hole- do take them away as I have plenty to replace them with.

Hopefully the above information is helpful, but again, if anything's unclear or if you need to know more, email me! Both Adam and I have chosen to do this and are more than happy to help.
