JCR Committee: Benjamin Downing

2005–6: Amenities Officer

A veteran of the Amenities Wars of '03, Downing served under the inspired leadership of General Ged Ridgway. Corpus has not forgotten the losses sustained by allied forces in the conflict and a Computer Room was built over the old JCR to commemorate the fallen. The conflict only came to an end when Ridgway called for volunteers to take part in PROJECT: 'VENDOR'. Downing was one of the brave few who made the ultimate sacrifice, becoming: half-man, half-amenities. With the head of a twenty year old man, and the body of a rotary vending machine, he is an impressive (some, especially children, say terrifying) sight. You will not find him in the JCR as he doesn't actually like college very much, and the JCR doesn't actually exist any more. He prefers the JCR of his mind, filled with the fraternal cries of comrades long fallen and enemies being broken. He retains faith in the leadership of Ged, and like all Amenities officers since the 'Amenities Wars of '03' believes that some day Ged shall send his son to the JCR and he will atone for our Amenities sins.
