JCR Committee: Blake Hansen
2006–7: First Year Officer
The job of first year officer is described in 'about the post'. Currently I am working on two mini-projects: the college bike hire scheme and a way to get change for the washing machines at Beldham building. Thrilling! If you have anything else you would be able to recommend or would like me to operate on drop me an email. bah31. A little about me, I'm a kiwi (i.e. from New Zealand) and am 19. I spend my time looking down microscopes and studying cute minute objects (I don't do ugly ones) as a Bio NatSci. I enjoy many sporting and cultural activities but generally are not vey good at either. Check me out further on facebook, the world's real communication forum! Kia Ora for now, look forward to meeting you.
2007–8: Treasurer
The treasurer creates the budget, compiling requests from each of the clubs and societies at the beginning of Michaelmas Term of each year. They are also responsible for giving out said money upon receipt of receipts when a society spends money allocated to them. They manage the Sky and newspaper accounts, along with other minor JCR expenses, they allocate money at the end of year spend up and are required to write about themselves in the third person. In essence, they are the ball-bearings that reduce friction in the financial wheel of the JCR, they are the in-swinging yorker on middle stump that dismisses authorised spending debts and they are generally here to do what they can (even if it means explaining the previous sentence).
If you have purchased something within your societies budget on your personal expenses, place the receipt in an envelope along with your name and society in the 'JCR Treasurer' pigeon hole in the post room, and a cheque will magically reappear in your pigeon hole for the amount you spent.
If you wish to get in touch with me on any financial query, please feel free to email me, Blake, bah31@cam.ac.uk, and I'll do my best to help in whatever way I can as quickly as possible.
