2009–10: Male Welfare Officer
Well Well Well.... fare. I believe we 'Male Welfare Officers' exist to help you through the good times and the bad: Good: tea and chats about life in general; contraception requirements; relationship issues. Bad: sexually transmitted anything, homesickness; bereavement; academic overload; eating disorders. Undecided: pregnancy. And many, many more. Please note that the widespread belief that the Male Welfare Officer is exclusively for males and the Female Welfare Officer is solely for females is LIES, LIES, LIES!!! We are there for you - please talk to whoever you feel more comfortable doing so; though of course there will be some issues that one of us will be more able to understand (I have little understanding of period problems, for example - though I can't speak for every Male Welfare Officer) or address. *** please note opinions stated here are solely those of the current male welfare officer and do not necessarily represent the views of the college or any other body. However, I'd hope that both college and all other bodies agree that Eating disorders, homesickness and bereavement are negative. Not sure about the Academic overload though, they might shift that to the positive. Or perhaps 'non existent'. Be happy, look at King's College Chapel in the sun. Aint it inspiring?
2010–11: Entertainments Officer
Ents. That’s all it is – Entertainments. None of the boring stuff. And that’s how I want to keep it – from a high-octane freshers’ week to an unbelievable final slack of the year before May Week, my aim is to make every aspect of Corpus Ents immersive and dynamic. To this end, my aims this year are to modernise and improve the sound and lighting systems in the bar, and hopefully to start a new society with the aim of getting people keen on the idea of DJing properly at slacks. With the help of my dedicated, intelligent and brawny ents team, I hope to make Corpus ents the best in Cambridge.
If there’s anything which you’d like to suggest (and please do!!!, even the crazy things!) please email me or come talk to either me or anybody on the ents team.
